Under the direction of the Resource Opportunities Centre, the Technology Access Assistant will:
- Perform general office duties, filing, typing, answering phone, customer service etc.
- Write and publish web content. Update and maintain online content.
- Provide assistance to general public & management staff.
- Instruct basic computer tutorials.
- Provide assistance in program development and delivery.
- Responsible for assisting the delivery of programs for youth and seniors.
- Liaise with ROC staff regarding programs
- Provide public access to ROC’s technology
- Supervise & monitor public access computers
- Promote and create awareness of the ROC & prospectcommunities.com
- Participate in training and planning sessions as required
- Submit regular reports
- Use computer based management system
- Lead recreation programs and technology related workshops for a variety of age groups. Responsible for daily duties such as greeting participants/parents, organizing equipment and supplies, preparing for activities and outings, distribution and collection of permission slips
Requirements for Hire:
- Applicants must be entering full-time post secondary studies in the Fall of 2022 or continuing full-time post secondary studies in the 2022-23 school year.
- First Aid, CPR, and WHIMS or willingness to obtain
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, must have resided in Nova Scotia at least six month prior to start of employment
- Successful screening through Child Abuse Registry.
- Note: proof of all of the above will be required.
- At least one season/summer of experience leading children/youth in a recreation setting and designing program curriculum considered an asset.

- Experience working with the public (all ages) especially children and youth
- Demonstrated experience with computer technology and applications
- Willing to learn new skills as required.
- Demonstrated experience with Internet applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
- Drivers license, access to a vehicle or reliable transportation as the PRCC is not located on a public transit route.
Salary: Starting wage for this position is $13.35/hr. This is a 35 hour/week position (some evening and weekends may be required).
Contract duration: ASAP to August 31, 2022
