Before and After School

*Updated August 30, 2021 – Information regarding the 2021/2022 school year below*

The Before School program still has space available for new participants!

The After School program is currently full & a waitlist has been established.  Please note that the current amount of available spaces are based on the 2020/2021 NS Public Health Guidelines.  The provincial government has not yet released updated Public Health guidelines for the upcoming school year for Before & After School programs.  We are hopeful that the new guidelines may allow for a larger cohort size than we have currently planned for.  If this is the case we will begin working our way through the waitlist including participants that are in the pre-primary program.  Please be patient with us as we move through this process as we do not receive information from the provincial government in advance of their press conferences, we find out at the same time as the general public.

If you would like to enroll in the Before School program or add your name to the waitlist please fill out the google form below with all of your details.

Program Details:

The Before & After School program is open to children in Grade Primary to Five (see below for a statement regarding students in pre-primary). Transportation is provided for students attending Prospect Road Elementary, Atlantic Memorial Terence Bay Elementary and children attending school within the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial for both our Before and After School program.

The Before & After School Program will continue to follow all public health guidelines as required for the foreseeable future. Due to public health guidelines, space in our program is limited. We will continue to evolve and grow as guidelines allow and will update families as changes are made.

Before School: 7am – 8:30am – children are escorted to school by program instructors via the Prospect Recreation Connector Trail (PRES) or by bus (AMTB & CSAP).

After School: 3-6pm – children are picked up at appropriate dismissal time and escorted to PRCC by program instructors via the Prospect Recreation Connector Trail (PRES) or dropped off by bus (AMTB & CSAP)

Pre-Primary Students:

Due to limited capacity within the program we will be accepting an expression of interest for care for pre-primary students only. We cannot guarantee that space will be available for PP students at this time. We will contact all families who express an interest in care for a PP student once registration is complete for students in grade primary to five. If there is a limited capacity for PP students we will be accepting PP students on a first come, first served basis according to your submission date/time via the Google Form linked below.

Registration Information:

We will begin accepting requests for registration at 9am on Thursday, August 5, 2021 via Google Form.

Your submission via Google Form will be a request for care only. This does not guarantee your registration and will be confirmed via email by our Programs & Events Manager within 12-48 hours (excluding weekends) of your submission. Your registration is not confirmed until you receive the confirmation email. Requests will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis according to the date/time of your Google Form submission.

Once your registration is complete and you have received your confirmation email a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 per family will be due to secure your space. A member of our team will contact you for payment. This deposit is non-refundable should you need to withdraw from the program ahead of September, however, it will be credited towards your September payment if you proceed with your registration.
